Welcome to Future Pros Hockey
Hockey Development for All Ages
Future Pros Hockey offers Spring and Fall programs at GEC, featuring 10-week power skating sessions for skaters ages 5–14, as well as hockey skills sessions for adults. Team and private training sessions are also available throughout the year and are conducted throughout the province.
Our programs focus on developing strong skating fundamentals, hockey-specific skills, and the confidence needed to take players to the next level.
Meet Jaro Sevcik
Jaro brings more than 20 years of professional hockey experience to Future Pros Hockey.
He began his playing career with the Czechoslovakian National Team, winning a U18 Bronze Medal at the European Championships and a Silver Medal at the 1985 World Junior Championships.
Jaro arrived in Canada in 1987 and spent four seasons in the Quebec Nordiques organization, playing at both the NHL and AHL levels. Following his time with the Nordiques, he returned to Europe, where he spent 10 seasons playing professionally in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Holland.
After completing his playing career, Jaro returned to Halifax full-time. He served as an Assistant Coach with the Dalhousie Men's Hockey Team for seven seasons, helping the team earn a CIS Bronze Medal in 2003. During this time, he also ran in-season and summer power skating and hockey skills camps for Dalhousie.
In 2007, Jaro began coaching with Chebucto Minor Hockey, where he spent eight years helping develop young players.
Developing Players for the Future
Today, Jaro continues to share his experience and passion for the game with hundreds of skaters throughout Nova Scotia. He has worked with minor hockey players, ringette players, and adults, teaching proper skating techniques and hockey skills.
Many of the athletes Jaro has trained have gone on to successful careers in minor hockey and professional hockey.
Jaro also holds an Advanced Level 1 Coaching Certification.
At Future Pros Hockey, our goal is simple: to help every skater become a stronger, more confident, and more skilled player while developing a lifelong love for the game.
